Can someone explain the AlienBees and White Lightning relationship?

I have been wanting to get some AlienBees for a while. When I was looking at some other (3rd party) sync cords and remote triggers I ran across the name White Lightning. I googled it and went to their website. I was surprised to see that the format was very similar to AlienBees' website format. At first I thought maybe one had copied the other. Then I saw that they both were a subsidiary of Paul C. Buff, Inc. How are these related? I know this may be a simple (?stupid) question for many of you out there but I know almost nothing about large strobe lighting, let alone the companies that produce them. Thanks.

Two product lines sold by the same company.
Like Chevrolet and Buick.

Curtis is correct. The primary difference between the two lines is that the White Lightnings are built heavier to withstand more than the AlienBees.

Both are made by the Paul C Buff company. The White Lightnings came out before the Alien Bees. They are somewhat larger and heavier than the ABs. Both are excellent flashes, and I think many people on this forum love them. I have a WL 1600 and 2 AB 800's. The WL had been my workhorse until I purcahsed the AB's last year.
