I really enjoy doing glam/boudoir photography and I am trying to set up a website for it. My question is, what kind of packages are the most popular. I am no where near most of you, I am still small time so I am not in the $1500 market quite yet. Hopefully one day.

I would really like to offer some asuka books or jlee slide in albums but it really brings the package prices up and the profit on these aren't quite as high. So, any suggetions on to what to offer in packages and pricing would be awesome. I quickly looked throgh the topics but couldn't find a pricing package one so I thought because it was glam related it would be ok here. If not, I understand if it gets moved.

Thank you
Kathleen

Only you can decide what you're time's worth, and you have to balance it with your experience and your desire to build a portfolio. I would offer the shoot for a set fee, include a half dozen prints perhaps. After that charge for an album or charge for extra prints. Portrait photographers typically charge anywhere between $10 and $100 for a 6x4, personally i'm near the middle. For albums I charge cost + a reasonable fee for my time, but some people use the rule of thumb of a 3x markup - ie if an album costs you $500 charge $1500. Remember any print you give someone the chances are they'll scan it and enlarge it themselves. Don't forget model releases, esp for putt boudoir photos on your website.

Katie, it really does vary quite a bit regardless of where you live, if you rent .. if you own .. whatever ..
Presentation is a selling point .. period! If you make a presentation using asuka books .. then of course the price jumps a bit more ..

Tim is 100% correct in using the old 3x factor .. it's one that I've used for 2 decades .. even my mentor suggested it over 20 years ago ..
It sure seems to have worked, and I also maintain the integrity within the industry, by staying competitive with my pricing ..

Thank you for your replies. I have my pirices set a la carte, I guess I wanted to know what to offer in the packages. I was thinking of offering a few print only packages on the lower end , a jlee slip in album package and an asuka package. So that would be 4 packages working their way up......or..... offer print packages then try to up sell the asukas at the proofing sesson. I just know that glam/boudoir will be different packages than family or children shoots.
