Yeah, not exactly sure what it is, if it's tolerances, a bad measurement or what. There's also tutorials on how to remanufacture an original pack, but sometimes I wonder if it's worth the effort with Lenmars being cheap enough. I'm thinking about picking up one or two used OE batteries, another Lenmar or Pearstone and swap the end caps. My Canon OE battery is good for less than 200 shots I believe.

BTW, I was wrong, the Lenmar replacements are $35 a piece, still better than $170 or so for the Canon OE ones.

Get the Lenmar. I tried one and it fit fine on my 1ds.

Have enjoyed mine immensely. But have to clean house, and put my pristine condition baby up for sale:cry: Only 6,455 clicks. Can be seen @

Ack! I'm so tempted just to get the original box! Lol. The manuals are nigh on impossible to find as well. I still have my (both ultra-pristine) 1D and 1Ds and love 'em dearly. Sad to see you have to sell them, but hope that you get your asking price. They're well worth it.

Lol. Now I'm twice as jealous, even without the great shot!

It was a bit of a selling point when I bought it. Considering how rarely I have the box for anything nevermind a camera over 10 years old! lol

The ol' 1Ds may be coming to sea with me over the Summer so I'll have some more interesting stuff to share.

Used to have a mk ii but sold it last year when I needed the money. Just bought a 1ds classic, 28-70 2.8L and 70-300 IS. Off to the zoo this weekend so hopefully will have something to show for it in a couple of days!

Thanks, I'm still struggling a bit with letting her go, as I've read a lot of posts of people regretting getting rid of their original. I'll put the low ISO files up to my friends 5D any day.
