Took the 1Ds out with the Boy today to the beach. Been using my little Olympus XZ-1 lately at work so it was nice to use the Beast again.

Did anyone have AF issue on their 1DS body? I recently picked one up and it hunts like crazy and when AF does lock it front focuses like crazy.. I found a post about turning AF screw inside to fix either front or back focusing issue but doing so didn't resolve the issue.. I called couple shops for calibration and they asked for around$ $400 which wouldn't make sense considering the value of the body.

@pman67 I used a M42 (screw) Universar 35mm 2.8/22 lens with extension tubes. Old camera but even a lot older lens ;). The feder is made with a super Takumar M42 1.8 55mm lens with extension tubes. The lenght of the feder is 3,5 cm all manual focus and diafragma settings, so old fashion but I love it.

@katiedaddy no problems sofar, will have alook at it what it could be :confused: btw does it do with all your lenses?

Yes it happens with all my lenses. Below is the sample shot I took with the camera before (I was focusing on the moving tape). Second one was done with MF.
