You can select your bracketing yes.

...which all kind of suck I hear. :)

I actually prefer my aftermarket batteries. My Black Diamonds are way better than the Canon OEM batteries! I hear the Lenmars are just as good also.

And I use the cheap 15.00 ones and they have performed very well and have continued to do so.
So batteries are least of what I worry about when it comes to my cameras.

I'm posting this again, but I guess it does not since there was no confirmation.

Does the 1ds have the same 3,5,7 shot bracketing as say the 1d3? two button push on the top left.

Did this feature first arrive on the 2

On the 1DS, from the operator manual:

"With auto exposure bracketing the camera brackets the exposure automatically up to +/- 3 stops in 1/3 stop increments for three consecutive frames. You can bracket the exposure by changing the shutter speed or aperture. Or you can use a fixed shutter speed and aperture and change the ISO speed"

Thanks. 3 frames then. Not the 5,7 picture possibility that you have on the newer models.

The 1Ds can be set up to do either 2,3,5 or 7 frames via personal function 8

Thanks Chris for pointing that out. I had forgotten that. And it has to be done in the EOS utility, if I remember correct.
To be honest, I find that both my 1DS and 1D2 are generally so good at getting exposure correct, it's very rare that I would want to bracket. Very much the opposite of my now gone 50D. I had to bracket just about everything with it.

If I can found 1 with very good condition, this will be my first full frame camera *which I always wanted*.

But I don't know where to find it, it looks like very difficult to get one.

Anyone know where to get 1? :)

Personally, I am wary of ebay, but I have bought numerous items from KEH dot com and highly recommend them.

I have a question. Does the 1Ds usually come with a flash hotshoe cover?

If not, is the weather sealing complete even when the hotshoe is exposed to water?

P.S.: Any idea if not having a rubber cover over the remote control port on the side would affect the weather sealing? Thanks!

There is no hot shoe cover.
Yes, not having the rubber cover over the ports on the side would effect the weather resistance.

If you are buying one, make SURE you are getting the battery charger....or be getting the camera cheap enough that you can still buy the $340 charger. Yes, you read that right....$340 for the charger.

Just curious. Why is there no hot shoe cover? Wouldn't having one help resisting corrosion? So, the body is completely waterproof (moderate rainfall) even with the flash contacts exposed?

Also, if I want a replacement cover, what Canon part should I order?

P.S.: Would a Nikon BS-1 fit by any chance?

I don't know....I suppose you'd have to ask the engineers. My 1D2 is a fairly cosmetically nasty looking example of a body...and the hot shoe still works fine, so it must be a non-issue ?
