Should I go for the 5d 12.8mp or the 1ds 11.1mp?

What do you think of this:
Canon EOS-1Ds 11.1MP Digital SLR Camera (Body Only)
$1099 used-very good
Includes 6 batteries PLUS the AC adapter(a must), body cap, battery charger, power Outlet, Only a slight scratch in bottom right of lcd screen but this is barely noticeable

This is on amazon right now. It's cheeper than the 5d's. My only concern is that they don't give you pictures of the cameras on amazon.
My other option would be a $1400 5d.

The 1Ds sounds like a fine deal there. But again I'm saying this sight-unseen. If there are no pictures then I think you'll need to consider exactly what the seller means by a scratch being 'barely noticeable'.

The 5D certainly has 1.7MP more than the 1Ds, but I'm dead sure that even if you print big, you're not going to see much difference. The images of the 1Ds are inherently crisp too and that could render the difference completely moot. The 1D Classic too, has the tendency to produce super-crisp images. There's probably a good deal of folks out there doing nice prints with just 4MP.

I have an almost brand new 50D but since I've have bought the 1Ds and the 1D Mark II I had no interest to even use the 50D or 30D, Both which I plan to sell
not that one or the other are bad they are both very good cameras but the 1D cameras have a great feeling to them and I find them more enjoyable to use. The 1Ds has under 40,000 and the 1D Mark II has under 18,000
and on ebay I have seen some 1Ds at some very good prices and they do have pics and email any of the prospective sellers if you have question about their cameras.
And I'm sorry for misunderstanding you this and the 5D are the threads you want since you want a full frame camera

Here is a picture that I took when I was out trying my 1Ds and it surprise me because I crop it by about 60% or more and with a little extra help on it with pp and I thought wow that looks better than I thought it could .ISO 1000 AP.f.8 shutter 1/100 and leaning on a post to help stabilize myself .

No I had a spasm in my back that would throw my picture out of focus even thou I was leaning on a post to try and stop it but what surprised me is that even if the pic is not perfect it was still usable and that I like.

I've had my 1Ds MkI for 1 week so far and I love it! Many ask, "Why a used 1Ds MkI? Why not a used 5D MkI or brand new MkII?" Simple answer... the focusing system. 1 series tops everything! It's accurate and fast... especially with L lenses. And I've been spoiled since I also own a 1D classic.

Here are a few shots I snapped up while testing out the camera for the past week...

with 35L, Av=f/10, Tv=1/30s, ISO=100, Exp. Comp=-1

IMAGE: http://geneman88.zenfolio.com/img/v2/p276104254-5.jpg

with 135L, Av=f/2, Tv=1/100s, ISO=400
IMAGE: http://geneman88.zenfolio.com/img/v4/p914079498-5.jpg

with 17-35 f/2.8L at 17mm, Av=f/13, Tv=1/100s, ISO=100, Exp. Comp=-2/3
Not having gotten used to FF yet, I actually had to retake this shot because my 1st shot included a bit of my own shadow at the bottom of the photo.

with 135L, Av=f/8, Tv=1/80s, ISO=100, Exp. Comp=-2/3

I was a little worried about the fact that this body has a CMOS sensor in it vs. the CCD sensor in my 1D classic (love the look produced by CCD, hate the fact it needs so much power)... but my worries went away as soon as I looked at all of the photos taken by this camera. An excellent performer at a relatively bargain basement price.

Do you think so? I've been contemplating if I really did or not. Can't go wrong with 800 actuations though.
