Please let me explain myself before you trash me.

Last June I was out on my boat on a lake, taking photos with my 20D, of my daughter fishing. One of my coworkers came speeding up on a jet ski. I turned to take photos of him getting closer.

By the time I realized he was not slowing down, I turned and covered my camera, but the tsunami was too big, and had sent a wave of water into my boat, soaking me, my family, and all of my camera gear as I had my bag open on the rear seat (I now close my bag every time I am done gettng anything out of it by the way).

I gave serious consideration as to if I had enough weight in my boat to hold a body at the bottom of the lake, but I digress. He paid for the repairs.

To avoid this from happening THIS boating season (not that I can afford the gas anymore ), I was looking at a housing for my camera. I didn't really need a SCUBA housing for my 20D, and don't trust the plastic bag systems, so I started to hunt around eBay to see what I could find.

I started out looking for a housing for my G2, but found nothing for an older camera like that.
I just "won" an auction for a small 4 Meg Noink Point and Shoot with a complete dive housing, for less than I could have bought the plastic baggie for.

Well, we shall see how it works when I get it here. At least it works on CF which I seem to have an abundance of.

And to think, now I can take it in the swimming pool too, and not worry about my camera getting ruined. Hey, it's only a Noink, right?

No one's going to trash you for getting a Nikon. Hell I use a Fuji as my P&S. Canon's SD series are overpriced and their A series are too fat. Congratulations on the deal are in order, not a flame war. :D

Did you lose Digital Photo Professional (DPP)? Get it here (external link). Cursing at your worse-than-a-map reflector? Check out this vid! (external link)

Thanks,
I can't wait until it gets here, so I can test out the housing in a pool to make sure it's water tight. I will do with without the camera first :p

Then if all is good, I'll put the camera back in the housing, and play a little.

If that works, then I'll take it on my next dive too!:D

I loved my old nikon 995...their P&S used to (and may still, I don't know) be some of the best P&S cameras, IMO.

Well, if you think your camera could be trashed I suppose it's ok if it's a noink!
