If Amazon stocks and sells the item, then it's okay, but if they run out, then they sell the item through a partner company, and the price will often change when they do that. If you visit them after the rebates go into effect, then it would be hard to say if they (Amazon) raised their prices, or if they just ran out of stock and switched to their higher priced 3rd party vendor.
