So our for a skate shoot on saturday, and my ebay triggers stop working. I let them sit for about 30 min ,and they work for maybe 5 shots. Then nothing. Im guessing its the battery? Does RS carry the batteries?

Thanks!

It might have helped if you had of mentioned what brand/model of triggers you have beyond "Ebay", but if it's the PT04 models, they use CR2 batteries and you should be able to get them at most drug stores such as Walgreens or RightAid...both will be cheaper than Radio Shark.

Peace,
Jim

That is the battery for the receiver, it could also be the battery in the transmitter.

Enjoy! Lon

Good point...and I have no idea what battery is actually inside the transmitter. Considering the size, it's gotta be something like a watch battery or similar. Hmmm...I'll have to pop mine apart and take a look so I can have a spare on hand.

Either way, it's easy to find out if it's the transmitter...press the "Test" button. If the little red LED doesn't blink...well there ya go!

Peace,
Jim

Battery in the transmitter is an A23. You can get a Duracell 21/23 from many photo shops, Energizer and Duracell A23 and 21/23 (respectively) can be found at CVS.

The transmitter may still light up but still have a bad battery. I got my 16 channel triggers with a bad battery. The receivers use AAA batteries but the transmitter uses an A23 (L1028 is what is on the battery but it's a 12v 23A battery). The battery powered it enough to trigger but it was very unreliable. Measured at around 11.6v. I replaced it with a brand new Duracell 21/23 which measured 12.7 volts (idle) and the triggers fire very reliably now.

Troubleshooting 101 (see also: LightRules,perryge):
1) RTFM.
2) Repeat Step 1.

The ebay trigger's batteries are for testing only, and they tell you to replace the receiver battery upon arrival.
