does anyone know if the Sigma 17-70mm F2.8-4.5 DC MACRO will be alright on a 1D 1.3 crop body?

I believe the 17-70 only works on crop bodies with the smaller sensor.

I''m trying to decide between the 17-70 and the Tamron 17-50 and the Canon 17-40. It's a hard decision. But I think the 17-70 is going to win out based on price.

Had I had a 1.6 crop body i would have gone for the sigma as it gives a good range from 17-70.
