A little U13 soccer...

First few had some pretty overcast lighting which wasn't bad but needed 640 ISO to keep speeds up, the second game was under ultra bright conditions which presents it's own challenge. Game two, I set exposure mainly by using a partial meter off the turf using ISO to get speeds over 1/2000 (settled in around 400). All shot with the 70-200 f2.8 and 1.4x TC.

thanks. 1/3200 f5 400 ISO, partial metering off the turf at 14mm. Used a Sigma 10-20 which isn't ideal on the 1.3x crop body but once I get out to 14mm, there's really no vignette to deal with. Still, the sun was too my left, midday and very bright. Best I could do under those conditions from there. I chose that side even with the sun issue since most players seem to be right leg dominant and it gives a little better angle (like in basketball). Hope that answers the question.

Wish #5 and #6 the guy on right was't chopped off. I have same problem when shooting soccer.

thanks Bobby. Yeah, once I got teh CFns figured out, the camera has come into it's own. You're right on the "cut offs", I like portrait orientation for these but it sure doesn't give you much to work with. Maybe I should try some landscapes with more of a crop?

I also run into problems shooting soccer in portrait mode. I get the payers (hard to do without cutting off parts) and then ball is missing. Shooting landscape and cropping off vertically seems better to me.
