I use and like the Sekonic L-358. I don't think I would buy a used one, though, unless the seller was known to me and/or provided a money-back guarantee. In other words, I would NOT purchase such an item on ebay.

Same here. Probably wouldn't save much, if any, money buying one used on eBay anyway. I sold an older Minolta IV on eBay for more than the L-358 costs new.

i originally wanted to purchase the Sekonic L-358 mainly due the spot metering capability to landscapes etc but due to budget restrictions i went with a Sekonic L-308s and although I've only used it for studio and beach shoots I couldn't be happier. Unless you need the spot metering capability of the L-358 then save your money and get the L-308 - that's my two cents.

358 doesn't spot meter (unless you buy an attachment). The 758 has a true spot meter.
If you don't need a spot meter, get the 358. It tells you the balance between ambient and flash. Useful to have.

At Seconic's website (external link), you can download product brochures and entire instruction manuals for all of their meters. That would be a good place to start if you're looking for information.

Hola - just ordered mine from B&H - $239.00 - $49 transmitter - but sounds like the transmitter only works with the Pocket Wizards($539 for kit). PC cord $29. There's other extras if you need them. andy.
