Can anyone one out there suggest any good poses, lighting techniques, angles, for someone with a little more meet on her bones. My girlfriend is gonna let me practice on her and I want these to be as flattering as possible (that way she will keep helping me practice ;). Anyways I was thinking high fashion/nude, so if anyone could give me some pointers that would be awesome. Also if you want you can post pictures for examples that you may have ( I am a visual learner)

High fashion is about clothes... nude is about the body.

LOL I don't know what a high fashion nude is.

Do not use a wide angle lense.
Hips straight on are much wider than from the side. Compromise might have to be made because of belly though.
The idea is to enhance the chest while deaccentuating the hips.
For a large girl, shooting down from a ladder might be a good idea.
Don't place the legs straight toward the lens....giant knees. (no one should do this).

For high fashion, if she has to approve it, I wouldn't shoot it. It looks funny even if they girl is a light 110-120 pounds. You need those indented cheeks with no fat to get the shadows in them and make it look cool.

I'd shoot nudes. You can hide stuff with either overexposure or underexposure. So for example to reduce the waist, but keep the hips you can have her wear a dark skirt on a white background and then backlit it so much so that the sides of her waist get blown out and it looks much thinner.

Same with shadows, which are easier. Just place rimlights which also serve as short light when she turns her head. That's what lorek's kept doing for the last 3 years. It helps if the rimlights are diffused.
