Hello Every1

I've got an assignment (my first ever) to take my son's baseball team pictures tomorrow.

I plan on shooting with my Tokina 50-135 on a tripod. Any recommendations? Pointers?

Thank you in advance.

just look on any baseball site and look at the poses, then copy them. there are only so many poses they use, bent over like they fielding a ball, bat on shoulder, glove up like they catching ball etc.
bring flash too!

If no flash, then ensure that you are not going to have harsh lighting...like mid-day sun. Take early morning shots or late afternoon shots. Try to have the sun behind you, but if they kids begin to squint, you may need to adjust to a 45 or 90 degree angle to the sun. You'll have to see how the shadows fall across the face and see if they are too dark since you can't use a flash....unless you can try the on-board flash. Diffuse with a piece of paper taped to the flash. Oh and I think you should use the 85mm 1.8. I've heard it makes for a great portrait lens....but for the team photo...you'll want wide as possible so you won't have to be like 50 feet away to get the whole team .

Good luck. ;)

Thanks, guys, for your suggestions.

The photo-shoot went without a hiccup. I will see if I can post some here over the next few days.
