SD800 IS Powershot color saturation problem

Hi everyone,

This is my first time posting and am happy to discover this group!

I have the SD800 Canon Powershot and have a problem with interior shots. Whether on automatic or manual mode, nearly all of the images have this horrible orange tint to them. I thought this was an isolated problem but it occurs in a variety of different lighting situations. I've also noticed that even the outdoor shots have a foggy quality to them. Has anyone else with this camera had a similar problem? (I don't have this issue with my Lumix Panasonic DMC-FZ5 camera.) Frankly, I'm surprised by the poor quality of these pictures compared to the Lumix because this Canon Powershot got excellent reviews by consumers as well as the camera pros.

So, my question is this--could this be a white balance problem and if so can it be adjusted?

I'm strictly a point and shoot gal and am not looking to fiddle around much on the manual mode if possible. The easier the better in my opinion but if white balance (or something else) is the culprit could someone be kind enough to give me step to step instructions on how to remedy this?

Thanks so much!

Kim:)

Can you post an example or two of each type of your problem?
