Hi

Not sure if this is in the right section, so apologies if not.

Can anyone offer directions to Durdle Door from Lulworth in Dorset?

I would like to go there and surrounding area tomorrow.

Thanks

It's a long time since I've been there, but you can walk to Durdle Door from Lulworth Cove. On the west side of the cove is a fairly large car park and running from the side (west) of the car park is a foot path that takes you along the coast to Durdle Door, which is about 3 miles away.

If you've got some time then also check out the coast line around Kimmeridge and Dancing Ledge.

Once you are in the car park at Lulworth Cove you will see the path to Durdle Door on the right heading up a steep hill. Park at the back of the car park to minimise your walk :-)

Be warned, it is one hell of a hill between you and Durdle Door . You climb from Lulworth Cove and then descend to Durdle and do the reverse on the way back. Good walking shoes, drinks and a lightish camera bag are recommended.

Thanks for the tips guys.

Is it fairly easy to find Lulworth Cove from West Lulworth itself, or are they the same place?

Thanks

Cos I am so kind (and having a bad day at work) I have created a google map with place markers for West Lulworth, Lulworth Cove, the car park and Durdle Door. I've even marked the path between the cove and the door (best viewed if you click "Satellite - Show labels"):

Here's the link (external link)

Thanks again guys.

Those links are great, much better than I had already.

Hopefully, I will have a great day and get the shots that I am hoping for.

Once again thanks for you time and directions.

Thanks

The road signs around there are very good and so you won't have any trouble finding either Lulworth Cove or Durdle Door. Also, if you don't fancy the 3 mile walk to Durdle door from Lulworth Cove, there is a car park much nearer - just follow the road signs! Access to the car park is actually through a holiday caravan park and once you've parked it's about a 5 minute walk down a steepish footpath.
