Actually, the only place I know of nearby where thunderstorms do happen is in the mountains. Especially in late summer during monsoon season. But, there's no place in the wilderness that's safe to set up a camera to capture it and still keep the camera dry.

You could always just stay in the car with a car window mount taking pictures and pop an umbrella out to keep water from coming in.

Yep, you win the prize.
I got the kit with the 17-85. They had a sale of $200 off, plus there is a $100 rebate, so I got the kit for $1250 after rebate. I may keep the lens and give it and the 20D to Lisa to play with.

It will be updated soon.

Congrats on the 40D Jim......and you still haven't updated the gear list ;)

Same here... Why buy two sets?

We have 2 or 3 sets of sheets.....need them when the son is sleeping in the same bed and has an accident in the middle of the night....fresh sheets are better than wet sheets.

Hey Becky, I'm washing bed linens....remind me to put 'em in the dryer...will ya

Did you put them in the dryer??

Permagrin wrote in post #5531058 (external link)
you know, I thought about that (I'm one that is very bothered by baiting)...and IRL I've encountered some people who are genuinely offended at the heron eating fish shots that don't phase the birders at all...

I don't like baiting either, but if I capture a heron eating a fish...that's survival of the fittest, or like the Lion King...the circle of life.
