Photographs are records of life. Pity they don't make music when you put them in a record player. :p

Neat shot! :) But standing through the sunroof??

Thanks! And Yep totally standing up in the seat through the sunroof! ;) It works really well when I'm not concerned about getting shot in some of the back woods places we travel when we shoot for a day!

Hi Jenn how has your day been?

My day has been busy and hectic and LOOOONG! I'm finally home! Today was the wedding I had been roped into shooting... downloading shots now... Have previewed them and they're looking pretty good for a first timer! :D I'm pleased so far! I even was allowed some fun... the B&G so wanted the more traditional stuffy formals... The let me have a little fun... :D So I'm anxious to see how those came out...

ON a side note... I'm totally grossed out... the cicadas are in full force... we could hear them INSIDE the church... a couple of trees outside the church were COVERED... I wanted to do some of the formals outdoors... but no one (me included) wanted to go out there! *shiver*

OK, someone needs to explain "expose for the background" to me...in simple terms please.

short5 wrote in post #5589955 (external link)
Imagine you are not shooting anything but the room in it's ambient light. Well the background will be exposed but your subject may not be in which case you would throw a little fill flash on them. That said I suck at it.

Yeah. About that. Meter for the whole scene and (I assume this is with flash?) let the flash fill in a tad on your subject.

Ann won't let us have a car with a sunroof. She knows I'd be spotting planes through it :{)#

Hiya Deb :)

That's typically how Dan and I shoot! ;) Often we'll pull over and get out but sometimes we stop in the middle of the road... I've even been known to shoot while standing up in the sunroof... Like I did for this shot! ;) hehehehe

Ahhh, through the sunroof, brings back some fun memories :)

Nice layout!

Been dreaming for years. I am not sure we can pull it off but there is 8 acres adjoining the farm our horses are on that has been greatly reduced in sale price. It would be a dream for us to get it.

Very common for bird shooters! Especially at Refuges where you can't get out of the car.
