I've never really noticed that with any lenses I've use or had......then again, I never really had too many lenses my self. Robert | Gear |

Don't get me wrong, it's a fantastic lens, but speed is not its thing.

Actually, all the lenses I just mentioned that are slow focusing have great IQ...you just can't use 'em for speed .. It's Permie's world, we just live in it! ~CDS

I was laughing about the irony of that, too. My name is Lonnie, but I answer to Thomas too.

Do you have the older model? (And I agree that the 135 is fantastic. Lisa let me use hers on the tulips and it was awesome) Permagrin wrote in post #5636748 yeah, originally I tried my 90mm macro for portraits with the same issue. Do you have the new 100mm macro or the old one? Dan's old one focuses really slow but TD says his new one is pretty fast. Didn't realize that there were 2 models. I must have the older one. Permagrin wrote in post #5636753 Hey Cat, when do we get to see more portraits? I've been working on them a little bit this morning. I'll have more to share by tonight or tomorrow. Loved the BBC series of it and even enjoyed the last movie. I think I'll still wait for it to come out on dvd. Not much of a theatre movie person. .. It's Permie's world, we just live in it! ~CDS

I'm much the same, but for epic battle scenes, nothing can beat going to the cinema. I saw all of the LOTR ones on the big screen, and benefitted from the experience.

But I am a HUGE Chronicles of Narnia fan. I couldn't even begin to guess how many times I've read those books. All 7 of them. In fact, I wore a set out, and had to get a new one. So, these movies get to be seen in the theater. I was really impressed with the first one, and am really excited to see this one.
