Hey Cat, when do we get to see more portraits?

I never knew that some lenses focused faster than others. I've never really noticed that with any lenses I've use or had......then again, I never really had too many lenses my self.

Uh, try the 85 1.2 L. You can get coffee waiting for it to focus. Don't get me wrong, it's a fantastic lens, but speed is not its thing.

yeah...the 400 f5.6 and the 300 2.8 (of ours are hyper fast at acquiring focus)

most of our others are average-fast focusers

the 85 1.2, the macros, the tamron 28-300 (of our lenses, past and present) are SUPER SLOW focusers.

It's TRUE!! Actually, all the lenses I just mentioned that are slow focusing have great IQ...you just can't use 'em for speed

Yep. I was laughing about the irony of that, too.

The hospital where I work is about two miles northeast of Universal Studios and the smoke from the fire was blowing west, so I didn't smell it when I was up on the roof. But the first several miles of my route home is to the west and I got to drive right through that huge smoke cloud. That stuff positively REEKED! I've never smelled a fire that smelled that strong and bad. What the heck was burning there?!? I was wondering what kind of chemicals were blowing around in the air.

My 100 macro is lightning fast. Do you have the older model?

(And I agree that the 135 is fantastic. Lisa let me use hers on the tulips and it was awesome)

yeah, originally I tried my 90mm macro for portraits with the same issue. Do you have the new 100mm macro or the old one? Dan's old one focuses really slow but TD says his new one is pretty fast.

Didn't realize that there were 2 models. I must have the older one.

yeah I'm looking forward to it too...I read all the books yearly when I was a kid. Loved the BBC series of it and even enjoyed the last movie. I think I'll still wait for it to come out on dvd. Not much of a theatre movie person.

We rarely go to the movies. I can probably count on both hands the times I've been in a movie theater.

But I am a HUGE Chronicles of Narnia fan. I couldn't even begin to guess how many times I've read those books. All 7 of them. In fact, I wore a set out, and had to get a new one.

So, these movies get to be seen in the theater. I was really impressed with the first one, and am really excited to see this one.

I'm much the same, but for epic battle scenes, nothing can beat going to the cinema. I saw all of the LOTR ones on the big screen, and benefitted from the experience.

Didn't stop me getting the extended dvds though...!
