Sorry, I was just wondering if anyone saw if this long-winded thread was moved back to the Canon EOS digital cameras forum.

I hope somebody smiled about this. :lol:

besides, it's the internet... why get bent all out of shape over something that technically really doesn't matter in "real life"?

I know this is not the room to ask, but I hear that "powertrip" quite often. What does it mean.

Thanks

I'm confused. Are you being ironic or serious?

It's a generally negative expression. When a person with some authority is felt to be throwing his weight around, he's said to be on a power trip. I'm not sure how that applies to this forum because I don't see that happening here, but maybe I've lost my objectivity.

Maybe I've gone mad with power.

Thanks belmondo, I get it now. Not only that, but funny, we have almost the same expression here with almost the same words. What a small world.

Thanks again

If they even had half a clue what goes on behind the scenes here...

I'll bet there's some "behind the scenes" discussions that take place from time to time. Y'all are kahootz. :D

We take this very seriously. We search, research and discuss privately before we lock, delete threads, ban users, set policies or change policies.

The main thing people need to remember is that this is a private forum. On a private forum you do not have freedom of speech. In fact, this forum is based in The Netherlands so us Americans who stand high-and-mighty on the free speech thing can stand in the back of the room.

So yes, we have a private forum where we discuss all the behind-the-scenes stuff. The four of us actually spend quite a bit of time there keeping things running as smoothly as possible.

The huge majority of members appreciate it. The ones that constantly fight the rules think we're Hitler'ish warmed over.

What's this thread about again?

And how does that secret handshake work over the phone/cable lines? It must be a magic secret handshake ^^;;

Since you guys meet and discuss things, I would like to ask you something.

To make it short, I've said some stupid things here. I feel very guilty about it, even though these incidents took place many months ago. And as far as I know, not many people were offended. So how's my record w/ you guys.
