First shoot with a model

I've got my very first shoot with a model coming up and I wanted to get some input of some tips or tricks to keep in mind. The shoot will be an automotive shoot with a car that the model will be posing with. The location is well lit and will provide a great back ground. I know this won't be perfect since it's my first time working with a model, as this is her first time working with a photographer. Any bits of advice anyone can give?

Talk about jumping right into, that's going to be a tough shoot since you'll have two models (the person and the car) Look thru some car mags and tear out the pictures that you like and try to mimic those. If you don't have a CPL filter then highly consider getting one to cut down on the glare on the car. Reflectors are always good too. Take you time, make sure to chimp here and there so you know you're on track and have fun. If you get stressed out the model will pick up on that. Oh and have a friend or two there to help move the lights and reflectors so you can worry about taking the shots.

Which would be the better buy, a CPL or a UV? From what I understand a CPL is more for landscape and scenary.

How fun! I remember my first shoot with a model...I was scared to death, even though her and I had met a couple of weeks before the shoot to discuss things. It was her first time working with a photographer, but it helped that she was also an amateur photographer and really understood that taking a picture isn't really as simple as pushing a button.

Anyway, with regards to the filters, I don't think a UV will help much with this shoot since that generally used to cut down on the UV haze in landscapes and I don't imagine you'll be far enough from your models for that to be an issue. CPLs are used to cut down the glare/reflection on objects, but, as I understand it, it really only works (or works best) on non-metallic surfaces (rocks, water, leaves, etc.) and is most effective when the sun is at a 90-degree angle relative to what you're shooting.
