Anyone having this problem with lightroom: I'm getting an error when importing to Lightroom from DVD and CD disks burned today (worked fine 2 days ago and I have not been near either computer till today). One or two photos import (out of a large amount - images are RAW) and then it quits with a pop-up, which at the very top says "Import Results", and under there it says, "Some import operations were not performed." In the space below there's a header that says, "Could not copy a file to the requested location. (92)" (Not always 92, sometimes 200 or something else), and there is a triangle to expand and all the photo file names are listed below.

Lightroom is fine with images burned to disks 3 days ago (the last time I used either computer) but nothing burned today will import. This is happening on two computers one is running XP with Lightroom 1.4 the other is running Vista with Lightroom 1.3. I can import one image at a time but no batches off DVD or CD burned today, I have not tried directly from my CF cards (but have heard on another board that someone was having problems with them as well). We have found a work around; download all images to temp folder on desktop then import into Lightroom after imported delete files in temp folder it works but takes a lot more time and space on hard drive.

By the way we have also used two different DVD burners and softwares to create the DVDs and CDs. We are leaning strongly to Lightroom at this time any help greatly appreciated as I have a lot of images to import and process.

Tried the troubleshooting still no ability to import photos from disks. This is really weird because: 1) two different computers, two different versions of Lightroom and two different dvd burning softwares 2) disks burned two or three days ago will import into Lightroom 3) I have been ill and away from computers during the time between burning disks so both computers have sat on but inactive

Any and all suggestions are welcome as this problem is very frustrating and I have work that needs done.

Sorry, just trying to get my head round this, but why would you want to import from images already burned to CD/DVD? (my first thoughts are that Lightroom is trying to save something to the CD/DVD and can't)

Ok, can you post screenshots of your settings in the Import dialog. It sounds like you've got it set to copy the files to another location, and that location is read-only.

TeeJay: we burn a disk directly from a card so that we lose nothing shot for a client, this RAW disk is then used to import images into Lightroom so we know the disk can be read and is then archived. The RAW images are edited, processed and exported out of Lightroom as jpg, the finals will then be burned to disk and archived with the originals.

Victoria: I'll get the screen shots soon.

So there were 6 files as part of that import, 2 imported ok, and 4 didn't? I looks like that read itself is failing.

For a start, I'd suggest running 1.4.1 on both machines. There were some heavy bug fixes between versions.

Considering older discs transfer fine (still?), I'd be seriously looking at your disc burning software to see if a setting has changed. Or a bad batch of discs?

Try viewing the discs in Bridge too, to see if you can read the files fine that way.

Disk software used were two different ones (Roxio and Nero) and disks were burned in two different computers (Vista and XP) and the packages of disks have been used for three months or more. Images on disks do open in Bridge (CS3 on Vista computer). We did install 1.4.1 onto the Vista computer late yesterday. Victoria thank you for your time this type of troubleshooting is a bit more than I can handle and my tech person is very good but not used to the editing software.

Drop by www.lightroomforums.net (external link) (or tell your tech person to!) if you still can't get it working. I haven't been windows based for a few years, but there's some guys and gals over there who may have a better idea.

Its strange that, for the four files it cannot find, it's looking in "D:\\" (note the TWO backslashes?)

Can you explore the disk and view these files? - Are they all in the same folder?
