Hi, i live in a very dusty city, hong kong.......my camera is almost constantly covered in dust after each use, the bag doiesnt protect much as its everywhere.

how do other people deal with dust, and whats the best way to really clean it off? i have found that a blower and a cloth seems not enough for me.

How about get a bag with a zip ? instead of just a clip ? Because usually the clip ones still have some open area where dust can get in.
I clean my camera with blower and brush externally, and use arctic butterfly to clean the sensor.

My Lowepro bag has a zipper and clip, and does a good job of keeping dust out.

After working in dusty conditions, I clean my camera with canned air and soft brush. I also have an air compressor in the garage that I use to blow dust off my bags and cases.

You can't really keep it out. Just clean your camera often, every day if needed. Check your sensor after you are in the dusty conditions. And try not to change lenses while there is a lot of dust in the air.

I shoot off road short course racing, and when they track is dry there is a cloud of dust with about 15 feet of visibility. I haven't noticed any problems that the dust has caused. I have shot 5 of these races so far

I put electrical tape in the slot under the viewfinder, over the card door, and over the battery compartment door. It's worked really well for me.

Get a 1Dxx body and weathersealed lens? ;)

One thing you can do is go to the bathroom... And run the shower on hot water for a little bit, to get the air good and moist - and then let it settle down for a while so the air is no longer fogged and damp. Go in there and clean your gear, especially the insides and backs of lenses, filters, sensor, etc. The moistened air will grab the dust and drop to the floor (eventually). Once the insides of everything are clean, put filters in their cases, lens caps on the lenses, etc.

Regularly vacuum out your camera bag or better yet, use an air compressor and really blow it out. Wipe down your camera and all your gear with a very slightly damp microfiber cloth when you get home so it's fresh for the next outing.

Out and about there's not much you can do but the only thing you really need to worry about is the front element/filter. Everything else should keep the dust out unless you change lenses. Unfortunately, dust is a fact of life.

I would use the blue masking painters tape since it doesn't leave a residue like electrical tape.
