Hi all,

In this coming Friday [after tomorrow] i will shoot a football (soccer) match in my city area, and my team will have their last chance to win or at least with Tie.

So it will be an important day, and the Dauphine(?) of Ajman will attend with his brother, the Head of the club [Ajman Club]. So i will shoot many portraits at the end of the match or between the 2 sets, and it will be in the night time, so what camera i should take for those shots [look like a photojounalism]? 5D or 1Ds2?

I will be using my MKIII with 300 only for sports action, and my friend will use my MK2N with 70-200, so i don't have time to switch with him or swapping lenses, so what camera of the 2 you will choose? I know which lens i will use.

And about the flash [for sportraiture and celebration moments] , should i keep it on Automatic or Manual? what power amount i should adjust or set my flash on? the flash head should be 90 degree or 45 or what? what ISO i should keep my camera at if i will use the flash and say i will not go above 1/125-120 and f5.6-f8?

Hey Tareq

I hesitated to offer advice on something like this, but I came across this last night on a "birding question" http://www.synvis.com/FlashXtender.htm (external link)
Read download.

I did not realize that flashes were so popular for long range work under poor lighting conditions.

OK, i am talking about the sports not birding, so i hope i will choose the right camera tomorrow.
About the flash i think i will use it whatever it is and doesn't matter, i know people here doesn't care to have that perfect flash, they will be happy of our victory i hope tomorrow so they will accept anything.
Just i like 1Ds2 because it is faster in focus than 5D i think, but 5D is better for noise as i will use higher ISO even with flash [Because at night], so i don't know what i should use, faster focus or better ISO performance.

I'd use the 5D for the portraits between matches and the 1DMIIN and III for the matches themselves.
