My 20D has ETTL 2 and works very well in auto mode. Now I am sure there is going to be some loss of flash output, how much should I compensate to make up the difference? I am using a Canon 420EX Speedlight, so it is an auto only unit, however, I do have flash compensation on my camera...Dean

However, I assume that you are shooting in some normal ETTL mode. In that case, the flash still does a preflash pop, and that light will be metered the same way in the camera right before the main flash pop. So, theoretically, you should not have to compensate or do any tricks. The metering should simply assume that there is less light reflecting off the subject. I did say _theoretically_.

I did say _theoretically_. ---Bob Gross--- This relects my experience with the Omnibounce, the images all come out correctly exposed, however I loose quite a bit of distance, and the flash uses a lot more power, so I have longer recharge times and the batteries don't last anywhere as long.
