It isn't the fastest site I've come across, that's for sure.

As for Benny Hill, I love Yakitty Sax, and Boots Randolf in general. That alone is reason enough to watch.

Barbie doll looking models with silicon t&*s shot in the studio with over use of skin smoothing in PP..

You mean all those fashion shots are not REAL barbie dolls hand painted to look like that? Man and I thought those fashion shots were so great and I started my of doll collection so I could do them too.

You busted another of my delusions.

Not a cliche shot, but related: over-processing, specifically super-saturating. I was guilty of this one myself at one point.

When it comes down to it, I think most everyone on this forum has taken cliche shots. You can't really start taking pics and be an instant pro and have your own unique subject. After all, it's a big world and there are lots of photographers, especially since the digital age has begun.

How's that saying go? "Remember, you're unique, just like everyone else".

:)

Actually I stopped looking for that reason (really), I got mega mega bored. Then the boredom spread to others work. I have noticed the nudes in general have become so pervasive (in fine art circles) that it has become..... I don't even know what words to put to it but somewhat of a desperate move.

To begin with, I shot a LOT of what the author of this forum would consider a cliche (sunsets, roses, bees on dandilions, etc). This for good reason, though.

Since these shots ARE cliche, there are plenty of examples all over the internet - displaying both, good quality and bad quality of said cliches. This allowed me to compare my cliche shots to those of more experienced photogs and helped me improve my craft.

So, shooting cliche isn't a BAD thing, all the time.

I've read somewhere that the mark of a good photographer is the ability to take a shot of a well known tourist destination (e.g.,Statue of Liberty, Golden Gate Bridge, etc) and have the viewer say "Wow!".

Too much stuff, not enough shooting time.

Canon T4i (2 lenses), Fuji X100s, Olympus OM-D EM-1 (3 lenses)

I like that! I like that, a lot. Kind of makes me want to go out and see if I can achieve that.

*great... something else to obsess about...*

Threads like this by people complaining of pictures taken by other people. I have one advice. Don't look at them then if it bothers you so much! ;)

Exactly

Canon 40D; 50 f1.8, 70-200 f2.8 IS L, 580 EX II, 1.4 TC, 24-70 f2.8 L, (2) 430 EX II
