Beautiful LD! I also had to look twice at the horizon Peter...;)This will look fabulous in those swanky black frames on your wall:D

Thank you Gail :) Yeah I'm sending these to the printer to be done on metallic paper. I'll have them framed and find a place on my wall for them.

So far the concensus has been that #1 and #3 are the best. So can anyone tell me what it is about #2 that keeps it at the bottom? I ask only because #2 is MY favorite :) Would it be better if I crop the left hand side so the boats run through the entire scene? I could remove some of the water on the bottom at the same time lowering them in the frame.

Personally I like foreground elements in my landscapes that lead the viewer's eye into the scene (ala #1).

Thank you for that Hoff. You know in shot #2 I wanted to anchor it on the right hand side more, but I didn't want Monk's (a restaurant for those not from the area) in the scene so I forced myself to frame further left. I think I'll re-shoot that one with the foreground anchored on the right. Oh yeah I'll have to clone out that sign that says something about overflow sewage after heavy rain (lovely thought that is).

Sorry for bringing up an old thread, but Image #2 (the marina) just became the first print that I ever sold! I haven't looked at selling anything yet because my body of work isn't very deep so I was a bit surprised when a co-worker wanted it.

This has been one of the most encouraging events. I'm also surprised that the first print I would ever sell was one taken with my wife's p&s...

I guess it's not bad subject matter if you can't get over to the island.... ;)

Very nice indeed!

Hey Deuce,
Very nice job on the colors and the sharpness...very well done there. The only negative comment I have is that in the first shot there, the water line looks like it's tilted clockwise just a bit. It could be an optical illusion from the buildings or the walk way but compared to the other two shots which look level, the first seems like it's off just a tich.

Also...and please take this as being very subjective...I find the bird in the second shot a bit distracting.

Other than that, very nice job.
Peace,
Jim

Thank you for the comments and critiques. It's very encouraging to sell, but I'm not about to quit my dayjob just yet ;)

Jim: I take every critique as subjective, it's the nature of the art, and appreciate the time and effort that people take to give me some. Having the least popular of the three be the one that sold is just a testiment to the subjective nature of what we do :)
