Internal Memory - Did I lose Pictures?

I shot lots of school pictures today. I put in a new card half way through the day. I shot a few pictures and then the camera told me I had no CF card. I opened up the camera and pushed a littler harder on the card and I was in business. My questions is: Is there Internal Memory or did those pictures "exist" in a buffer until the card engaged? Or did I simply lose some pictures?

Thanks for your help.
Terresa

First off, welcome to the forum!

If you can't see the pictures when you push the review button, it means it didn't record to the card and you lost those pictures. To avoid this from happening again make sure you have the option "Shoot without CF" turned off.
