My friend, who is also an amateur photographer, and I are considering starting something like a camera club. I do not like to use the word “club” because that sounds too formal. There will not be a president or dues or any thing of that sort. We are just hoping to find other photographers in the area who would like to meet up once per month and show off a recent image and perhaps learn a little from each other. Maybe even go out and shoot some together. Is there anyone in the Savannah area that is interested?

I'm here everyday Mon-Fri. Only live 30 min north and I think it would be fun. I'd be up for it.

Well, that will make three of us. I guess it is as good a place as any to start. I will let you know when and where--soon.

Hey DW. I assume I was the friend you were talking about. I think it is a great idea. Either on location somewhere or if everyone wanted to they could use my place.

One thing I find beneficial is we may shoot the same subject but you or I may see the "capture" from two different perspectives.

There are several aspects of the "shooting under lights" that I would like to improve on. For me, being able to compare notes and shoot along someone experienced in studio style shooting would be very helpful.

Would either of you be interested in photographing some birds out on Gulfstream Road (near the airport)? We would have to go early in the morning over the weekend.

Any of you want to meet up next Saturday (May 31) about 6 am out on Gulfstream road to photograph the nesting birds? When I drove past there this morning, the sunrise was perfect and there was a mist on the water—do you see what I am saying?

I had searched for Southeast Georgia and didnt see your post...

I can cancel mine (for "Southeast Georgia") and join you here???

I am in Metter. 1 hour away. I am originally from Savannah.

I think the idea of an ocassional get-together is GREAT!! Even if its online! I am a wife and mother of two (ages 3 and 2).

Let me know what you think..........

Just found your thread and had to become a member before allowed to post. I would like to join you on an outing, if not this one perhaps another. Is the place on Gulfstream obvious? Driving from Statesboro.

Those last posts were from 2008. I don't know how many POTN people are in Savannah, but I'd love to find some. I don't think Canon is a requirement. Lots of members, who post on POTN have Nikon.
