A parent would love that. I actually did one like that during hoops this past season and the parent is using it for a graduation announcement. This same parent spent over $100 with me on 4x6 action shots and yet this ws the one that stood out. Scott Evans Photography

The other day I jokingly asked the soccer ref if he REALLY need to be there because I'd go and frame a shot and right before hitting the shutter, he'd magically appear! I noticed most of your shots (well the ones I checked) were shot with a shutter speed of 1/2000, is that common for what is needed to freeze soccer action? |Canon 40D + BG-E2N | 580EXII | 430EX | Phottix Atlas Triggers

Since I was shooting at ISO200 and f4.5, ss of 1/2000 to 1/2500 was giving right expsoure on the faces. I could have used ISO 100 and lower ss but why risk it by going lower on ss. Fuji XT-1, 18-55mm

Colors look good on my comp, seperation between background/girls looks good, some of the expressions they make are not great but not like you can say "smile while dribbling"....overall pretty darn good, the 500 must be nice reach but also must be tough once the action moves closer. And can make an otherwise uninteresting shot work to some degree IMHO:
That's why the last one works so well. The first comes close to getting it as well. The OP's type of shot really needs the eyes to 'be all it can be' IMHO. Canon 20D w/grip, 300D, Powershot SX100 w/HF-DC1 flash, Canon 70-200 f/2.8L, 85 f/1.8, 17-55 f/2.8 IS, 50 f/1.8, 580EX and some other stuff...

Need to have another 1 series, that will be perfect for soccer. Fuji XT-1, 18-55mm

Fortunately our girls' soccer team is fairly consistent and are usually defending their own goal 75% of the time so I know which end to be in! lol!.
