First thing is to get those faces in the photo like the second one! Also try and get lower to the ground. Ever notice at the pro games the photographers are in a pit? I love the shots!

#1 the first thing that sticks out is the first basemans backside, crop it to the runner and expose to lighten up his face. Even though this has ball/action it doesn't do anything for me - fan photo it'd be good, but for my usage (I shoot a bit different than some as I'm mostly stock type images) it wouldn't work.

#2 you're a little late, the throw, just after, just before looks good but this is in that "dead area" where it doesn't offer much. The background is distracting.

PLEASE, when posting put your body/lens/settings. WIthout them it's hard to tell if you can get what you want (or others expect you to get) - there's a HUGE difference between a fan camera and pro body/lenses and you can expect different results with each (those canon/nikon commercials saying you can get pro results are a darn lie).

You have the same problem I am having with exposing the face without the shadows (number 1). Your exposure seems good as the color is good, and there doesn't seem to be any blur. But, you have the dark face. Not sure you can give it a litter more exposure and keep the blur out.
