? ??? ?

All you have to do is put what you do want on top of what you don't.

For example, on the iteration I posted, I got rid of the reflection over her shoulder. All I did was cut/copied the chair above the one with the flare, moved it down, and lined it up. A little erasing to soften the edges and done.

It really is a no-brainer.

Oh, well now that you explianed it for me that way I guess cloning really is a 'no brainer'.

But wouldn't that make sliding a couple sliders to change color a no brainer also???

Well, that was sort of my point. Elements 2 had a Color Correction Tool - just click on something that is "white", in this case, I went off the shirt, and then once you click the colors are globally shifted so that the clicked item IS white.

Now if Adobe, in thier infinite wisdom, got rid of a very usefull tool ... well then there is nothing to be done about that (Except to pick up a copy of Elements 2.0 on EBay for six dallars!)

I mistakenly had my SS on 1/25 instead of 1/125 for the first few pictures. The WB was on flash. ISO 400. f/4. FEC was at 0 I believe. Terrible lighting in the arena also.

This is the original, no PP.

I have PS Elements 6.

Can the color & bg of this be fixed somehow? Please tell me YES!!

Thank you, Kath

I have a simple edit that I would like to share - I think I got the colour sorted fairly well - but you have not enabled Image Editing in your profile, so according to the rules of the site we should not be editing your photo and posting back a new version. If you turn on image editing I'll post my effort. See the "IMAGE EDITING OK" link over on the left of this post. That's what you need to enable for your profile.

Cheers.

Here's my take at it. Not sure what color the seats actually were, but this is what I came up with during my corrections:

Converted to LAB and added a subtle curve. Flattened and adjusted a green cast with a hue/sat adjustment layer.

Thank you all for the help. I will be working on this in the next few days.

I have removed the photo as I have gotten enough feedback & examples.

I hope it works out for you. But now I am really wondering, does Elements 6 have the Color Correction tool?

In Elements 6, the levels adjustment screen has black, gray and white eye droppers that adjust the colors when you choose one them and click on an area in the photo. Is that what you mean?

Could be, in 2.0, it is found in the drop-down menus under Enhance>Adjust Color>Color Cast, which brings up an eye dropper. It ONLY shifts color, and does not alter the brightness or contrast. Great fast tool, and I wish the full version of PS had it.
