Recommend a compact canon point and shoot?

A friend of mine wants a small canon point and shoot under $200. What is out there that you can recommend? I shoot with a DSLR and no nothing about the little compact cameras.

A590. Compact, well-featured. If they were slimmer I'd have one. I got a Fuji F40 instead.


Did you lose Digital Photo Professional (DPP)? Get it here (external link). Cursing at your worse-than-a-map reflector? Check out this vid! (external link)

SD1100, it's the size of a deck of cards and under $200 in Canada. I got one for my SIL and she likes it a lot.

SD1000. Its going for around $150 and takes excellent pics. I'm going to keep mine until the SD790 goes for the same price next year.
