Yesterday was nearly fatal for my camera. I swam out with the water housing to shoot Matt Ratt (Santa Cruz Surfboards) and was in such a hurry to do so that I forgot to tighten a few nuts. There was water in the housing within a minute. Here is the one and only shot I took. The camera survived. I think I'll only make that mistake once.

Maybe you were subconsciously looking for a reason to have to upgrade?

lets see. some mistakes left to make.
take it off timer and put on high burst.
swith to manual focus (if that is how you shoot when gooing wide)
clear card before swimming out.
hook shutter cord to camera.
these are just a few that i have only done once. i am sure i have done more.

Well they say the most dangerous part of photography is the loose nut at the back of the camera!

Apparently, you can have more than just one loose nut! ;)

Glad your gear came out ok!

Don't switch out your nylon wing nuts for Stainless steel, either use nylon lock nuts or stick with the nylon wing nuts. The Stainless will loosen if nugged and will just keep backing out, the nylon seems to have more grab on the screws and don't let go......
