I will be heading down to check out the Georgia Aquarium in about a month. I have Canon XTi with these lenses:

Sigma 10-20mm
Canon 17-40mm f/4L
Canon 28-135mm IS
Canon 50mm f/1.8
Canon 100mm f/2.8
Canon 70-200mm f/4L

I want to know which lenses I should bring to shoot in the public aquarium. I want bring 1 or 2 lenses or one if possible. I am open to suggestions on other lenses.

Thanks in advance!

50 1.8 and 100 2.8 Macro. They're your fastest.

the 50 and 100 speed is what you need in there
id probably take the 10-20 as well for the BIG tanks

Agree. I used a 17-55/2.8 IS at the Monterey Aquarium last Fall. Really need at least f/2.8 and still will be at ISO 800-1600.

Have a great time!

Too much stuff, not enough shooting time.

Canon T4i (2 lenses), Fuji X100s, Olympus OM-D EM-1 (3 lenses)

Yep. Take the fastest ones possible. And get collapsible rubber lens hoods for them. That way you can press the hood up against the glass to minimize reflections, and still be able to angle the camera around some. Shooting through glass is about the only reason I keep rubber hoods around.

I agree with those 3 lenses mentioned above. 50, 100 and UWA. You may want to also call the Aquarium in advance and see if you can bring a tripod as a flash would be relatively useless.

Good luck and have a great time!

What about the Canon EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS, Sigma 24-60mm f/2.8 or the Sigma 24-70 f2.8 EX?

The 2 sigmas could suffice as walk arounds as they're 2.8's, but you might find that they are not wide enough. The IS kit lens is in a great range for a crop, but it is simply too slow. If you like hat range and can't afford the 17-55 IS, look at the Tamron 17-50 2.8.

+1 for this option. 100mm may be a bit long though.

I had a Tamron 17-50 at the 2 Oceans Aquarium in Cape Town a few days ago and that worked for most shots, although I missed a faster lens.
