Best places to photograph

I plan on taking a trip out of this country this summer and would like to know which countries you have enjoyed photographing the most. I love people and bright color. My favorite place to photograph was San Miguel De Allende, in Mexico.
Please give me some suggestions.

My favorite places are Canada and Japan.

BTW, OT a bit but I couldn't help noticing your sigature looks exactly like LazyPhotographer's.

I second Japan...all those advertisements and signs. If you go in October, you get some impressive fall foliage...although this year wasn't so great because the weather was unusual. My guess is South Korea, Shanghai, and Hong Kong would be similar in terms of artificial color situations...but if you're going in the summer, prepare to sweat. Oh, and the food is wonderful!

Costa Rica!! Been there numerous times. Great foilage, beaches, rain forests, active volcanoes and the dollar is very strong there right now. Very friendly people. I highly recommend it. There is so much to do and see. Absolutely amazing.

Nevada Desert has some excellent shots...

Ireland - especially the northwest coast.

Tunisia-Africa and Turkey.

Both places have incredible beaches, amazing flat landscapes, and warmth of the sun-

a % of the population is still stuck in the 70's; things are sort of time-warped.

the tropic/desert scapes strangely mesh with the modern western world.

turkey was cheap, too. 2 weeks, all expenses paid, meals, airfare, hotel (4 star) and the BEST food I've ever tasted, turkish massage/spa (3 hours), all for only $1,200.

Somebody top that...

So many choices. Each area of this fine earth holds it's own uniqueness. What may appeal to me may not be someone else's cup of tea. Having said all of that, some of my favorites are as follows:

For photography India was wonderful. It is steeped with history with tons of old buildings and national monuments. Access is pretty wide open for still photography. I never did find out why they won't allow videography in a number of locations. The marketplaces are great venues for a wide arrange of colors, the women sellings their silks to the street vendors selling very weird colored food. I would not recommend going into some of these markets by yourself packing a whole whack of equipment.

Australia is great and gives you just about everything you could want. We drove from Sydney to Cairns and there is a large variety of landscapes and wildlife. Lots of waterfalls if that is your bag.

New Zealand. Very lush and colorful. Lots of sheep too. The south island is more rugged than the north. Beautiful country.

Hawaii is well Hawaii. Kind of hard to go wrong here.

These are my favorites.

I highly recommend India. Small villages in India has amazing scenery and it's a great place for photography.

Do you realize that the last post in the thread you responded to is almost five years old? I'd suspect that the OP (original poster) has already taken the trip.

I have seen some great pictures of Italy and Greece, but I have never been, also see a lot of amazing Auzzie photos, I want to live in Auzzie

Here is the list of places I would love to photograph:
Australia, Italy, African Safari, Egypt, Greece, China, Hong Kong, Messico, Alaska, Hawaii, New York City, and many more, but those jump out at me.

Top three for me In order of preference I love landscapes
Peru
Canada
Costa Rica

Western Europe including Belgium, Netherlands, UK and France. These are places I've been and sadly only owned a Canon P&S at the time. Pics still portrayed the old world beauty of these countries, but I didn't do them justice at all.
