it seems that way.... I ordered mine 2 weeks ago from MPEX and after they processed my order the status of the item immediately became from "in stock, ships in 24 hours" to "please call for availability"... I must've ordered the last one (or the only one in stock)..

Being one of the folks that paid the $50 premium for a Canon mount at one of B&H's competitors because it is virtually never in stock at B&H (who does not charge the supply and demand premium).. Tokina's manufacturing process drives me nuts.

It looks like the lens is made for Canon, Nikon and Sony mounts. Virtually every time I have looked at B&H over the past 2 years, the Canon mount was sold out but the Nikon and Sony mounts were in stock.

Right, I think I bought my used copy for $600 (maybe $590, don't remember)....Maybe they just make more $ from the other makers..

I love this little lens, and hardly any flare to complain about.

Is Tokina planning any Version II of this lens? Otherwise why don't big retailers stock it properly? Defies laissez-faire logic.

I purchased mine from B&H, but Amazon, Adorama, and a lot of other shops should have it. It's quite a nice little lens. Why are you referring to Version II of it?
