Nice shots! I like #5 best. That last one looks like something out of an Amityville horror flick.

Maybe I should have warmed up the colors to make the sky look orange or red or something. 5D Mk2 + BG-E6 | Canon EF 24-70 f/2.8L | Canon EF 70-210 f/3.5-4.5 USM | 580EX II | Manfrotto 3021N/3030/RC2 | B+W Filters

Maybe I've got a bad copy, I'm renting it so no big deal really. i'm betting you have a bad copy. mine is anything but soft! flickr

Very true. The focus hardly moves unless you're focusing on something really close to the front element of the lens. 5D Mark II | 50 F1.8 II | 35L | 17-40L | 38-76 "Macro" | 580EX II | 430EX

I found myself going for lots of neat wide-angle flower close-ups @ f/2.8, and this is what I came up with, straight out of the camera no post-processing: The camera was "in focus". Once I backed up a little bit the shots got a lot more clear. 5D Mk2 + BG-E6 | Canon EF 24-70 f/2.8L | Canon EF 70-210 f/3.5-4.5 USM | 580EX II | Manfrotto 3021N/3030/RC2 | B+W Filters

After It is so easy to use, the process is so much easier than photoshop & not to mention the image is much cleaner as well. Well, obviously when you use a lens with a large aperture, you will get a very small DOF, especially when you focus on a subject very close. In this picture, you can see that the flower in front is out of focus, but the green leaves behind it are. If you want a greater DOF, use a smaller aperture. 7D, EOS-M, 100-400 L, 15-85, Tokina 11-16 2.8, EF-M 11-22, 55-200
