First time using this fella. Using a UWA is more difficult than I thought, I found very few situations with enough foreground and bg interest on a hike today. This is one of them.

You really get an idea for the warmth and the feel of the room. And that room felt like that, and was really nice to kick back in (as much as you could with 3 kids under 6 running around) Kevin

That beam was a pain. Cropping it out will kind of give an indoor pano feel to it? Interesting. Thanks Kevin

Ricky09 Member 72 posts Joined Oct 2009 More info | Is it hard to get a normal looking wide angle shots with this lens? I'm thinking of renting this lens for a large group shots (15+ people), but i worry about the tilting and fattening of the subject. I've seen a few normal looking ones, but most posted pics here are either tilting or just just weird looking. Should I be renting a normal zoom then like the 16-35 L if i want the normal look? Thanks.

Thanks. I would never use an ultra-wide lens to take photos of people. Something in the 50mm range is going to be best, and you'll have to back way up to get everyone in the frame. With that said, you should be able to use this lens at 16mm and not have it distort too much. A 16-35 is not going to distort at all on a crop-sensor body. 5D Mk2 + BG-E6 | Canon EF 24-70 f/2.8L | Canon EF 70-210 f/3.5-4.5 USM | 580EX II | Manfrotto 3021N/3030/RC2 | B+W Filters

So at its highest focal length, 16mm, I won't get distortion or at least minimal distortion? Thanks for your time.

At 16mm it's not going to distort as much, but there still may be some distortion. 5D Mk2 + BG-E6 | Canon EF 24-70 f/2.8L | Canon EF 70-210 f/3.5-4.5 USM | 580EX II | Manfrotto 3021N/3030/RC2 | B+W Filters
