They have the ef 400 5.6L in stock and say it doesn't come with tripod ring.Ihecked canon,b&h and adorama and they all list it as included with lens. Never dealt with them before but checked and they are rated high. Can anyone tell me if it comes with it. Thanks

Buydig advertises the 70-200 2.8 L IS without the tripod ring but when I emailed them they said it does if thats any help. I'd say call them to be safe.

I got my 300 f4 from them and it had the tripod ring. They are a very good retailer. I have never heard of them raping boxes to sell the goodies back to you. I have bought quite a bit from them as I live on the left coast and get tired of waiting 5-6 days for the NY orders to get out here.

They are not far from me and I buy most of my stuff from them. They've never done me wrong.

I've ordered online once, and they were great. I too think it's just a mistake in what was typed to be put online.

Another plug for Canoga Camera. I've purchased from them a couple of times and it was a very smooth buying experience. Like others have said, just give them a call or an email to find out about the tripod ring -- it's probably an error on their website.

Sorry...

But did you call them first before posting your thread here?

Only slightly OT - the tripod ring for the 400 f5.6L is the same as the one for the 200 f2.8L and the 70-200 f4L (with the exception of the color.) It may also be the same as the 300 f4L. The point being it might have been 'midnight requisitioned' for one of them. Then again, the prior posts may be on the mark that it is a mistake and the ring is included.

Have Fun,

Rick

Just got off the phone with Canoga. The 400 5.6 DOES come with the tripod collar. He said they do NOT remove it and sell separately like others do.

I just ordered this lens!!!
