Hello All,

Could you please suggest Flash units that can be used on XTI, cheap and premier ones.

The 430EX is pretty popular and does a well job (as I've read from reviews) and is less expensive than the 580EX (which does a fantastic job).

There is no Canon 480EX Speedlite.

The 430EX will fit most people's needs.

The sticky PacAce put together has links to a few posts that give a really good overview of which flash is right for you. I found it quite helpful.

I just got the 430ex from best buy open box for $220 and OMG what a difference. Indoor shots are so much better.

You cannot trigger a flash to go off with the XTi or any other camera(by itself) when the flash is off the hotshoe.

Am I thinking nikon, or is there a off camera cord hidden in the video

For XXXD bodies without grip or small hands and everyday use, 430EX will be enough. If you need more power, think about a 550EX or 580EX.

You only get an extra stop or so moving from the 430 to the 580, the main reason to go for the 580 would be features.

If you use cheap optical slaves then this is an option. You only have manual power though (no ETTL).
