Canon USA has removed the DPP 3.4.1 and EOS Utility 2.4 updates for Windows while a change is made to the installer packages. Chuck Westfall, Technical Advisor at Canon USA, says that the software itself isn't being changed, and that the updaters will reappear on the Canon USA website in the next day or two.

Thanks!!!

You ever get in trouble from Canon for doing this? Just asking, knowing how anal they can be about such things.

Probably. They make it public, screw up, remove it, and then stop anyone who did manage a copy from showing their stuff up. Great isn't it? Best thing we could do is get rid of the US DMCA, that'll fix a lot of problems right there.

From a relative newbie:
I have DPP v2.1.1.4 that I got back in February when I bought my 30D. How do I go about getting updates? Are they free if you already have DPP? Can someone send me the URL for the website?

Thanks,

Kevin H.

Under Drivers/Software Selection select your OS and the window will open with a list of the current downloads.

What lenses does the lens correction tool work with? It is not available on any of my images.

Not on 10.5.2 either. Just before finishing get error 5 and 6. Never mind back to C1 Pro and Aperture.

If you're referring to my link, it's the Windows XP version. I don't have a Mac and only run XP machines therefore had no reason to download the Mac version or any other Windows version.

For what it's worth, Canon did re-post the updater files as of today so they're available direct.

Did you lose Digital Photo Professional (DPP)? Get it here (external link). Cursing at your worse-than-a-map reflector? Check out this vid! (external link)

On the other hand it could be a clever 'viral advertising' trick. Instead of going the regular official way of releasing news about upcoming products they 'accidentally' include that info in a new software release, get the blogosphere's mouth to water just a bit, pull the software off of the website, and then release it again without the product in the list to create even more fog of a mystery about it. Bloggers, magazines, forums start speculating about the new camera, build up the momentum, and then bam the real advertising campaign starts and folks flood stores and amazon to get it because they all want to have the highly anticipated product first.
