This is a statue of David Stirling, founder of the SAS. I'm undecided if it's too dark or not. I personally like it but my main aim is to frame it and send it to someone who is ex SAS.

As you can see I was shooting almost right into the sun.

EXIF:
#1/4000 second
# F19
# manual control (1)
# 200
# Focal Length = 18/1 mm = 18 mm

Anyway, let me know what you think.

I like this perspective..it is a tad dark , but I think the mood lends itself to this image?

Thanks Gail, I've been trying a few things in Lightroom/CS3. I like your take on it.

I'll try some more and thanks a lot for your comments. :)

And those dust bunnies, I cleaned a couple up and didn't notice the others until I had uploaded.

That was kinda my point though, no one is supposed to know the identity of any SAS serviceman. :)

It does seem rather in keeping with the whole secret identity/unsung hero. And the history of the 22nd is hardly all sweetness and light now is it...? Anyway, it works for me.
However if you are sending it to someone connected with the regiment, they may want to recognise a few more details then is possible at the moment so it may be a bit dark for them.
I think you got a good sky for the shot too.

The sky in this shot is a fantastic backdrop to the silhouette. You should try to bring out a little more texture in it to "angry" it up.

I gave that a try as well but wasn't happy with it. Really like your version though.

Thanks for the comments.

Thanks a lot Billy. The statue is just South East of Doune.
