Black-necked Stilts

A couple of Black-necked Stilts at Quivira National Wildlife Refuge. Why these birds aren't named for their legs, rather than their necks, I'll never understand.

C&C welcomed.

Nice shots here! I like the second over the first personally, because in the second I like how the tan background contrast with the bird. I'm not sure if it was from uploading but I would like to see alittle more detail in the eyes. Nice shots!!!!!!!!!!! :D

Thanks. I also prefer the second. The light was pretty harsh on the first one, but it was earlier in the day, with a bit of clouds, when the second was taken, as I recall.

I didn't do much PP except some Shadow/Highlights and sharpening. I could probably bring out the eye in the second one, but I don't think there is much detail to work with there in the first.
