I had a pretty chill day at the park, we went to tramp skated at a friends house, we come back to the park to find that someone brought a kicker. I skated it a little then decided to bring out my camera. feedback welcome

Nice shot love this stuff being an old skater from back in my highschool days... about 16 years ago..... and I am Canadian... We have a new skate park here in my city and hope to spend some time there... got out once with my new 70-300 lens real quick.

excuse the poor photobucket image. also shot from 300mm and little slower shutter speed then I would have liked....I am too shaky at 300 mm zoom.

Keep up the good work.

one thing to bear in mind is, tell the story, if you have no perspective on where he's come from, it will look slightly odd. especially with this sort of stuff.

I'd crop slightly wider to show the whole of the kicker.

apart from that, I really like it.

ya thats what i originally had but then when i went back for a re edit i really liked the look of the square crop. I definatly see what you saying, its also hard to see where hes gonna land as well.

I forgot to add the trick is frontside flip

Does being Canadian have some particular affect on how fast or slow the years go by?

ya it is colder up here so we age a little slower. Trust me I lived in Tuscon for just over a year... ;) I just seen this young active shooter is Canadian and love it.. I am a proud Canadian... even if the government takes 49% of what I make..(that part I don't like) But I love the country.

I am 34 and I just don't think I could do a 360 flip like I used to... hell I bet I can't even ollie anymore...

He can from the right, off the black kicker and landed on the light blue tranny on the left. 50% runup 90% landing

Im getting mixed vibes every time i post a skate shot now, its either to wide or to tight. personally i wouldn't want to see this shot any wider, maybe its cause i know the park so well and i can invision what got croped out.

Anyways I found another shot of one he didnt land that was shot landscape, I still like the square crop more, nothing is added to the photo with the wider crop.

The second looks much better. Mainly because you can actually see what it is he is landing on, and a bit before the kicker.
