"I read this blog the other day, and it says the world is going to end" Ok, not the world, its usually just the photography industry that is about to disappear, but you get the idea.
I greatly prefer that one over the "if you give your mom pictures for free then all of the professional photographers will starve to death" threads though.

QWNED. I just saw that. I think that is super funny. Misspellings do not get my worked up. This is an international community where English (or American) spelling is second or third language.

Hell talking to my wife she will say stuff like, "wow that is a bomb". She sounds like a NOT joke from Borat.

You made me think.

Number of threads with "aperature" in the title 55. "Lense" 293. "Cannon" 146. "Brown Truck" 29.

And that's just in the title.

lol you made me laugh

That's funny

Out of curiosity I did the same search for the word 'nifty' and my computer blew up!

Seriously, that returned 299 results, which beats all the others for annoyance level.

I've just remembered one that gets used on just about all forums, not just photography ones. It's using "w/" for "with". It tends to get used only once in a post so it saves typing a whole two letters at the expense of hunting (unless you touch type) for the "/" key. I don't know where it came from, but I know where I'd like it to go... :p

Not lingo, but a question, but it's still annoying:

"Is this lens soft?"

Followed by 30 100% crops which are tack sharp beyond doubt but the OP will still insister there is something wrong.

Well with so many people posting opinions stated as facts, its nice to no which people admit that what they are posting IS their opinion. ;)

The ubiquity of "pulled the trigger" is like Randy Jackson constantly using the "you could sing the phone book" line every other damn week on American Idol. He did this again last night and it made me want to put a sharp object through his left eye!

The thing I hate the most isn't really a phrase, but rather a comparison. I keep seeing silly decision making moves using polls that are nuts, like "Poll: 85L or 28-135 IS?".

Maybe that is a little severe, but I see similar things all the time, and the comparisons, both in price and use are frankly irritating to see. I hope some people that list these polls really do so as a joke, because otherwise....
