Flash not operating

I just bought a 10D. The flash has been working while I have been reading the manual. I may have messed something up. The flash will not pop up or the flash icon does not appear on the lcd display. I have check the custom func. #5 and it is on emit. (#0 or #1) Can't remember.

Suggestions?

Hi,

The flash will not pop up automatically if you have turned the mode dial to a "Creative Zone." You will have to force the flash to pop by depressing a button. I don't know where this button is situated on a 10D. You should see a button with the flash symbol.

If the flash does not pop even in the Basic Zones then maybe the flash is stuck. Hope this helps.
