Printer Calibration

I am in the process of calibrating my printer and the question I have is when I use the meter to scan the test prints do I do this in normal lighting conditions or a dark room?

The ICC profile I created last night in the dark created a print that looked 1-2 stops under what my calibrated monitor was showing.

I think it would be best to calibrate to the lighting conditions in which you normally work.

Make sure the ink is good and dry first. The meter nose should seal out external light pretty well. so it should not matter. But like Jay said, I would keep the light the same as you normally use.
