I like the image very much. I like the detail, sharpness, saturation, subject, and I especially like the composition
You did good

Very well done! The only critical comment I would make is that it looks a little "cold." I think I see blue in the strawberry and apple as well as the background. I think whiting out the background and playing with white balance might make it come out a little more. What was your lighting source?

It looks very good. I like how I can see how you did you lighting in the reflections on the apple.

Always happy to hear some critique

I really like the composition and everything, but I find it a little under saturated? It looks kinda plain in the colors department. Here is a sample of a saturated look.

Edit: I am sorry, I did not realize that you do not have a "Imagine Editing OK" Sign under your username. Since your new, I assume you are not sure what it means. I hope you don't mind me adding an edited picture of yours. If you don't want it, I will delete it immediately.

No problem...I'll have to turn editing on in my profile...now I know why some people have that ;)

I appreciate the tips...I do think the saturation upped a bit definitely helps it out.

And to answer the question, it was a homemade light box out of a foam board box with one hole on each side (L&R) covered with paper and lit by 2 halogen lamps. Basic setup. And yes, I agree, it is a bit harsh, but I need to find a better material to soften the lamps. I don't know how well PP could take care of that.

Gelatin and Water!!! Mix it up, load it in a spray bottle and mist it. This is going to give you the "Fresh Produce" look. You may even want to spray the fruit with PAM before. Spray the PAM and wipe off any excess. Then hit it with the spray. It will help the water/gelatin mix bead up on the surface. **Beware** your specular highlights will be outta control.

Aloha,
John

I think the heavy black frame really kills this shot. The fruit are packed in tight enough, let them breathe a little! Also, as there is no real central element in the image, it is more of a study of form and color. I made some PP adjustments to open up some of the shadows and reframed the image. Keep on shooting!

This was my first thought also. But I love the clarity. I can almost smell that strawberry.

I think when I print, I will definitely use a white border. Seeing it next to the black one makes me appreciate it a bunch more! I guess it depends on what type of framing we'll use...
