Seems a lot of the recent photos I've taken have been rather blurry/out of focus. Everything has been handheld, but I've been doing my best to obey the 1/focal length rule (taking into account the 1.6x). Now, it could just be that I have all 9 focus points turned on and my camera is not picking the one I wanted it to pick, but after taking a few photos on a focus test (which I know aren't perfectly accurate either), I'm curious if my camera is actually having some focus problems.

I have to post this photo as a link because it's too big for the message board rules, but if you all get a chance, could you take a look at this photo and tell me what you think? It's shot in an incandescent lit room with no flash, Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 at f/1.8, ISO 100, 2 second timer so I could get my hands off the camera before the shutter opened.

Here's the link (external link). The photo is at 100% crop (maybe I'm just expecting too much). The lens itself has produced excellent photos on my 300D body, so I'm doubting its the lens itself.

Thanks in advance!

To my eyes, this is spot on!

What we see depends mainly on what we look for.
